New Year... New Series for MNl/TRL

Hope you guys (used in the totally non-gender specific way) had a great vacation, and a great start to the new year. If you read the Informer JR/SR you know that I'm looking for some help with the next topic we tackle mid-week.

Here's the topic so far: Typical Teenage Traps

Picture a teen stuck in a mouse trap, one of those snap jobs, not the sticky kind... and answer this question:

"What are some common things that trap teens? Things you get caught in and really mess up who you are?"

Now I'm not talking the typical answers like "drugs", or "booze" or "sex"... I'm talking more character traits... like arrogance- the "I can do whatever I want" mentality. Catch my drift? See what I'm peepin' "G"? Are you picking up what I'm laying down? Are you mowing what I'm growing?

Ha. Oh there are so many things I could list. Like. Cliques. Or, as I like to spell them: clicks. I'll think of more later. I gotta get to work.

Yeah, I totally agree with Ricky. Friends usually have a big impact on friends and doing everything your friend tells you to do is not always the best thing to do.

I think One trap may be too much self worth or lack there of.

A further explanation would be...
maybe there's some one thats too proud to recognize that they're in really deep trouble and need help. And on the other end of the spectrom we have the people who feel as if the are sufficating in the cr-JUNK that the world is flinging at them and are afraid that their peers will be uncomfortable if they try to talk to them about it. The sad thing is, most of us these days don't have any one to vent to or share their feels with so alot of us are breaking down. Plus alot of the time when we try to goe to our parents they say "its just a phase, you'll get over it," thereby cancling any confidence that the person had in their parents.

I thank God daily that I have so many good friends to talk to and vent with.

Congrats, Chris! You've had this blog for almost three years. Me, my weblog ADD maxes out at three weeks. Consider yourself proud.

Teenage traps? How about pressure to say with current trends? Teens, including myself, are constantly being bombarded with people - ad execs, MTV hosts, etc. - who just want to shove the latest fad down our throat. I'd have to elaborate on this further, most likely in person. But it's just a thought.
