The Dirty Dozen
So I'm thinking about taking a look at the 12 guys Jesus spent most of his time on earth with. We call them "the Disciples". So post some comments about what you think about the disciples. What were they like? What did they spend their days doing before they met Jesus? How about after Jesus? Why did Jesus choose them? Why did they stay? What kind of guys do you think they were? How do you picture them- short, fat, tall, bearded, old, young, etc?
Basically tell me what you think. You don't have to answer these questions, just tell me your opinion.

COOL! A NEW POST! I think that it's cool how Jesus picked normal people to be His disciples instead of picking like, righteous, perfect people. If I remember rght, or if I'm even thinking of the right people, some of them were fishermen, i think one was a doctor and Matthew was a tax collector before they all knew Christ. Oh, and Paul was a persecuter to the Christian churches. So it's like really amazing what Jesus can do and how He can change people's lives.
Ok, I know Peter was a fisherman, and I know he betrayed Jesus after Jesus told him it would happen. John wrote 5 books, 1, 2, & 3 John, Revelations, and of course, John. Um, yeah.
So Chris, is this gonna be like a 12 week series covering each of the Disciples?

yeah there's only like, five people that actually blog on this. and that thing you said about how we picture them, well, i always pictured them really tall and skinny, and they all had these beards that were like two feet long. yeah.
I picture the 12 dudes, like smelly and dirty. And nice big beards with little stuff stuck in them.
And like, kinda the buff type 'cause some of them were fisherman. so yeah.
For some reason I picture Matthew like, short and annoying.

Who knows. It's like one of those things that like you picture when your a little kid and it sticks forever. And ever.
i think of 12 peeps with cloud shaped beards and brown and black hair and sorta fat but not really. cuz thats what they look like in the little kids Bibles.
yeah, i noticed that. their beards always look like clouds, and they're short and a little fat in the kids bibles. but how could you get fat eating bread and fish all the time?

hahaha, maybe we shouldn't always listen to the little kids' Bibles. Or, at least don't believe the pictures. You should always believe the Bible.
ya but you have to admit once its drilled into your brain, the image is hard to get rid of...
well yeah, until you see one that gets even more drilled in your head.
Forgive me for this, but I picture it like a bunch of guys on a backpack trip. Think a week without showers, little sleep, getting on each other's nerves, farting, snakes in sleeping bags, Judas burning the steakes, constantly asking "Are we there yet... and where exactly is there?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, yup, I say that's an accurate depiction. Chris, my mom said you spend too much time with Jr. Highers, with constantly asking "are we there yet?" So yeah.

That's the picture Chris painted in my brain!!!!!! I just picture them like.... Some skinny some... "thick." And they're smelly, dirty, and some are bare foot and some have sandals. They all got those fantastic robe things that are tan and they have sashes that are darker brown. and they have hairy legs, hahaha! Oh yes, i can't forget the big beards and mustaches.
