Hiding
Why do we hide? Why is it almost always our first reaction to sin, wrongdoing, etc? Why do we think it will even help? Why do we think we can actually stay hidden?
Adam and Eve did it. Annanias and Saphira did it. David hid for a while after the whole Bathsheba incident. I would say even Judas tried to do it. And all of them got pretty messed up in the end.
So what do ya think?
Can you think of any other "hiders" in the Bible?

Hm, why do I hide? Because it's my first reaction whenever I do something wrong. Because I think that no one will know, but I keep forgetting that God knows...but it seems that as long as God's the only one that knows, no one else will find out. Do you see where I'm going? As for any other Biblical "hiding," I can't think of any now.
So faithful to blog!
The Blogger gods smile upon Ricky!
Question: why do we always feel like it's soooooo bad if someone else finds out about our sin?
Why do we always feel soooooo bad if someone else finds out our sin? Because it could ruin our reputation(whatever that may be). It could make people think differently about you. And it would be humiliating if someone picked on you/teased you/bugged you about it.
And for the record...maybe I'm just faithful to my computer. :)
Why do I hide? I think the 2 main reasons are fear and pride.
Yeah that too.
So you're saying we hide because of pride and/or fear... that someone might think differently about us, or pick on us because of our sin... which is probably true but really goofy since we are all in the same boat as far as sin goes. Inother owrd, we all pretty much do the same junk!
So why do we think we're fooling anyone?
Well, in my case, I personally think of all the friends I hang out with, I think I probably act the worst/commit the most sins...now, that might sound stupid because we all are stupid peeps who commit bad sins...I think it's just a bad feeling on the inside...does that make any sense?
I think a lot of people think the same way they're like "oh man im so bad I bet so-and-so has never done anything like this before." But really the same so-and-so is saying the same thing. Wait... does that make sense? Well anyway, because we hide b/c of fear/pride/our reputation and whutnawt no one really knows what the other did so when people judge themselves you can't really say "I'm worse than them, or I'm better than them."
Aside from me saying all this I am guilty of thinking I am worserest than most people I know.
Now you can read my whole comment over again and try to make some sense out of it...
Makes more sense than you think I thought I would think...
K, Amanda's comment makes sense...Chris's doesn't.
i hide because its embarrassing to be caught in sin. like the other day at wally world, we were leaving and my dad started making the beeping sound(it sounded really real oK). and my first reaction was to run, even though i didnt steal anything...
Hahaha, I mean uh, I agree with Shannon. Yeah.
Why do we hide? 'Cause it's very natural. It's our natural instinct to hide something wrong before someone else will see it. Even small children who don't know yet what's a sin try to hide something they did if it was wrong. It's very natural but the funniest thing is that we waste our time hiding anything so God would not be able to see it. HE sees everything and we cannot change it.
Thank you for your attention

Hey Chris, how was your trip thingy to Michigan?
Man, Hubert, you're everywhere!
For the rest of you bloggers hubert is all the way from Poland! And blogging on our little blog! Thanks for the thoughts Hubert!
Ok so obviously we're all talking around the same lines...anything else we need to add?
Maybe we hide because we think we can avoid confronting the problem altogether if we don't confront it head on. By hiding, we refuse not only to confront the situation, but also to accept that the situation even exists and that it needs to be dealt with.
It may also have to do with not wanting to accept the responsibility for what has happened. By hiding, we think we can remove ourselves from the situation and shirk taking responsibility for what we have done or what has happened. This last part I think only applies when something wrong or bad has happened as a result of our actions.
So what if a group decided to stop hiding all together. To basically "unpretend" that they sin, and that we're all in process, and all messed up in some way. And that we commit to confronting sin but not to look down on the sinners? What do you think would happen?
Relataionships would be a lot closer, and people would have better views of eachother. I think.
Or...tension would build, because I honestly don't think that that group would be able to keep up with their "un-hidingness," or whatever. Just what I think...
