New TRL/MNL Series

So JH already knows about this, but if you're part of MNL I'm spoiling the surprise that will come this Monday.

The new series we'll be talking through is all about stories. Specifically we'll look at the Parables Jesus told (in particular the ones that are recounted in at least two of the Gospels). So here's a couple questions for you to tackle:

1) Which is your favorite Parable of Jesus and why?
2) Why do you think Jesus spent so much time telling stories?
3) Why don't we tell more stories in church today?

I'm interested in what you think!

My favorite parable that Jesus told? I forget the name, but it's the one of the farmer's boy who takes all the farmer's money and then goes off into the city and spends it all and when he comes back home he finds his father waiting there for him. Do you know what's it called? Because I forgot. Anyway, I think Jesus spent so much time telling stories because it's an efficient and all around cool way of teaching people. And I don't think we tell more stories in church because we're all about 'just telling the message.' I personally think teaching through stories is the better way of doing it. So that's just my two cents or whatever.
